The Ultimate Self-Care Guide for Mamas to Be: Real Recommendations from the Miracle Mama Community

As I write this, I'm currently 7 days away from delivering baby number 4!! Besides Kookies, I honestly haven't spent a lot of time thinking through the products I'll need to get myself through the first few weeks postpartum. Our last baby was born in April 2021 and it seems like a lot has changed since then. But instead of Googling 'postpartum products' which honestly seems way too overwhelming, I turned to our Instagram community to ask YOU what your favorite postpartum products and resources are.

The responses have been amazing and I'm so grateful for all of our incredible Miracle Mamas who weighed in, many in the throes of postpartum themselves! Below, I've compiled their real-life recommendations.

  • Compression Socks and a Good Water Bottle: Stay hydrated and keep swelling down with these must-haves for your daily routine."Coconut water and a water bottle were my pregnancy BFFs."

2. Nourishing Your Body: Snacks and Supplements

  • Mama Meals and Pre-Made Food: Pregnancy and postpartum require serious energy. Keep pre-made meals in the freezer for quick, nourishing options."Bone broth for 40 days—so healing!"

  • Perineal Spray: This cooling spray is a game-changer for postpartum recovery."Earth Mama Perineal Spray was the best postpartum purchase."

  • Nipple ButterFor sore or cracked nipples, nipple butter is unbeatable.
  • SilverettesNursing can be tough on the skin, but these tiny silver nursing cups are a lifesaver for sore nipples. "Silverettes were the best investment I made for breastfeeding!"

5. Mental Health and Emotional Support:

  • Ask for Help: Don’t hesitate to lean on friends and family for help with meals, childcare, or even just some emotional support. "Help with kids and the house made a world of difference!"
  • Comfort Items: A comfy robe, oversized sweats, and a good book can feel like a warm hug on hard days."My cozy robe was my pregnancy uniform!"
